For many years, Halle Berry has been a significant figure in the industry, first as a model and subsequently as an actor. She was the only African American woman to win the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her work in Monster’s Ball, which she also starred in.

One of today’s most gifted performers is Taraji P. Henson. She was recognized as one of TIME’s 100 most important people in the world and has acted in several films and television productions, including Hidden Figures, Empire, and Boston Legal. In addition to receiving multiple Emmy Award nominations, Taraji has won a Golden Globe. She received the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series in 2015, making history as the first African American woman to do so.

Zoe Kravitz, an actress, model, and singer, is the child of musician Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet.
