The Top 20 Shirts Of The 21/22 Season

The Top 20 Shirts Of The 21/22 Season

We’ve chosen what, in our opinion, are the 20 best designs from all across the world after the majority of home, away, and third shirts for the 21/22 season have been released. Only club football, no international games

Another successful year for shirt design, with lesser legacy labels reviving, setting new trends, and straying from the norm to give the so-called bigger brands a good run for their money. The boundaries have been pushed, which has led to some of the best shirts in recent memory. It’s wonderful to see.

Whether we like it or not, this ranking is based on a fairly precise methodology, and the only requirements for inclusion are that the shirts be club shirts for the current season (otherwise, Germany Away would be a lock).

20. Hull City Away

Umbro gets things going with a dark delight by completely blacking out the Hull City away shirt, including the club emblem, sponsor, and logo. A black out shirt is practically foolproof, and the Double Diamond crushed this one. Tigers? Like the Black Panthers more…

19. Orlando Pirates Home

The Orlando Pirates shirt is all about the repeated use of the skull and crossbones from the club emblem in a sublimated graphic that goes throughout the body of the shirt. Similar attempts were made by PUMA and adidas, although PUMA’s innovative third shirts did away with the traditional placement of the club emblem.

18. Bayern Munich Third

We’re all in favor of this controversial idea. The third shirt for Bayern features a custom design that pays respect to the Bavarian countryside. The design is dominated by a sublimated graphic that was inspired by the mountainous scenery of Munich’s environs.

17. Ajax Away

Simply put, Ajax doesn’t get inferior kits. In keeping with the successful away jersey from the previous season, this one features two shades of blue with mint green highlights that stand out through the pinstripes, sponsor, logo, and club crest. Brilliant, bold, and bright.

16. Venezia Away

Venezia and Kappa, who have just joined Serie A and are both vying for best dressed honors, have started their new alliance this season in grand style. Even if the Venetians’ three uniforms this year are perhaps their weakest, this away shirt nevertheless places 16th on our ranking of the top 20 shirts. Think about that.

15. West Ham Home

Umbro has created a design that pays homage to the jersey Paolo Di Canio wore when he scored one of the club’s all-time greatest goals at the turn of the millennium. Perfect execution with a touch of modernity and tradition. You might say Umbro hit the mark. Get it? Yes, we’ll end here.

14. FC Porto Away

Featuring a navy and marine blue design that follows in the heritage of previous FC Porto away shirts, New Balance changed it up by adding metallic Gold touches that stand out through the sponsor, logo, and club emblem, giving the outfit a regal finish.

13. Mamelodi Sundowns Away

With designers eager to embrace the colorful culture present in the African nation, South Africa is somewhat of an unexplored resource for t-shirt design. An example would be the Mamelodi Sundowns away jersey. The defending DStv Premiership champions were given a gorgeous custom design by PUMA, which was used for both home and away, but which works better in the blue tones of the latter. Bafana Ba fashion, for sure.

12. Philadelphia Union Secondary

The Union Creators’ Collective, a group of admirers, created the “BY|U” kit from beginning to end. It has a dramatic blue base with a tonal lightning pattern and bolt yellow highlights. It’s not the first time a fan-led design has appeared on this list; could this be the direction things are going?

11. PSG Third

PSG is no new to these kinds of rankings, as the Parisians frequently receive some of the greatest uniforms in the game from Nike and its offshoot Jordan. This season, Nike had a little more freedom to experiment with the away and third shirts thanks to the Jumpman’s promotion to the home shirt. The latter shirt flips the customary Hectre stripe horizontally in a nod to club shirts from the 1990s. The muted color design draws focus to the centrally located club crest in Electric Red. Magnifique.

10. Seattle Sounders Secondary

Top 10 period. Here is the first, though not the last, shirt design that was influenced by a well-known performer. The Seattle Sounders’ secondary jersey pays homage to Jimi Hendrix, a famed musician and native of Seattle, by combining the colors purple, orange, and yellow. Hendrix was known for his love of color and psychedelic designs. absolutely insane

9. Manchester United Away

The Manchester United away shirt finds the ideal balance between nostalgic and progressive, fitting well with adidas’s ethos. It is inspired by the famous design from ’92, one of the most recognizable in the club’s history. By combining “Cloud White” and “Glory Blue” as part of an optical art pattern woven into the fabric, it reworks the classic snowflake design.

8. Roma Home

When a new company steps in to replace an existing collaboration, especially one as successful as Nike x Roma, it may be nerve-racking. The first Roma home shirt from New Balance, which features a design that puts the emphasis fully on the team’s recognizable color scheme, put worries to rest. The front of the shirt also has a modest tonal pin-stripe pattern, giving the otherwise understated design a refined touch.

7. Venezia Third

The third jersey from Kappa and Venezia, which was inspired by the Venetian lagoon, features a blue-green body with three fading stripes of the club’s renowned arancioneroverde on the breast, giving the impression that the colors are floating in the sea. How impressive the Serie A team’s shirt lineup is this year seems almost unfair.

6. Inter Milan Home

This is yet another contentious one, with some fans detesting the departure from tradition. But you see, it is precisely why we adore it. Experimenting on pregame or third jerseys is fine, but to make such a significant change to the home jersey is remarkable, and Nike should be commended for it. It still plays with the Nerazzurri’s traditional stripe aesthetic, but it also revives the Biscione snakeskin style that hasn’t been seen in ten years. for this, everybody.

5. Atlético Mineiro Away

What did we say about fan-made artwork? Any team with the guts to start Diego Costa and Hulk together up front deserves a shirt of this caliber. The ‘Manto da Massa 113’ shirt was created to commemorate the club’s well-known milestone of 113 years. The artwork was conceived by fan Lucas Adriano and made by Le Coq Sportif. It features a beige base with a front that is printed with a realistic map of the Minas Gerais state, whose capital is Belo Horizonte, the home of Atlético Mineiro. This is a custom-made stroke of genius, with collar and cuffs finished in grey, white, and orange.

4. Corinthians Home

Thanks to Nike, you can always count on Corinthians to have some distinctive designs. And once again, the Swoosh does not disappoint. This time, it creates the Brazilian team’s new home shirt, which has an ahem> cracking motif that was inspired by the fissures in the city of So Paulo’s walls. We’ll leave now, OK.

3. Arsenal Third

Another team whose shirts are consistently top-notch, with adidas recently drawing extensively from some of the Gunners’ most recognizable historical outfits. The classic lightning strike appearance from the 1995–1996 season has been expertly updated for the third look of this season.

2. Ajax Third

The Ajax third shirt, which has a black foundation and red, yellow, and green accents, especially on the Three Stripes on the shoulders and sleeve cuffs, is particularly beautiful in its simplicity. And it’s all a tribute to the Dutch club’s love of Bob Marley, particularly his song “Three Little Birds.” Fantastic design and story that just missed winning first place…

1. Venezia Home

Venezia FC has built a reputation over the years for having some of the best bespoke kits in the game, so it came as a surprise when the Italian club announced that they were ending their relationship with Nike and beginning a new one with Kappa. But the results of their collaboration this season have been nothing short of astounding. Not one, not two, but three incredible kits that have put Venezia firmly on the map ahead of their return to Serie A. Talk about raising the bar…
